Happening for the 22nd time, the Holzhau workshop started as meeting of the Semiconductor Physics (HLPH) group and has recently become a bit of a joint project. The meeting gave members of both groups the opportunity to present their current research, discuss ongoing projects and scientific challenges, and explore areas where our interests and expertise overlap. Just as importantly, there was plenty of time for informal discussions and getting to know each other beyond the individual research projects.
Görlitz provided an excellent setting for the workshop. Located directly on the German–Polish border, with its historic old town and neighbouring Zgorzelec just across the Neisse, the city also gave us plenty to explore together after the scientific programme.
Many thanks to everyone who contributed to the discussions and made the workshop such an enjoyable and productive meeting. We are looking forward to continuing the exchange between our groups.
