Semiconductor Physics / Nanostructures (Master)

This course links solid-state physics and chemistry to the electronic devices used in modern life. It covers what distinguishes semiconductors from insulators and metals, how their properties are described and changed, and how dimensional tailoring affects matter.

The course focuses on classical and crystalline semiconductors and provides a basis for courses on applications, devices and newer materials.

Halide Perovskites in Optoelectronics (Master)

This course examines the performance advances of halide-perovskite optoelectronic devices, their fundamental physical properties and the methods used to characterise them.

A good understanding of solid-state and semiconductor physics is recommended, together with some knowledge of devices such as solar cells, LEDs or photodetectors.
